The latest Telugu movie on Netflix (also dubbed in Tamil and Malayalam) is called Miss India featuring Keerthy Suresh. It features the life of a young woman who wants to start her own tea business in the US and how she goes about achieving it…
Ok, first things first – how was the movie?? I thought it was great…
Wait, what?
Yes, I said great!!
All those scratching their head hearing this, wondering “Wait..are we talking about the same movie” have valid concerns –
How does one start a tea business and expect it to have several outlets within 1 year?
Do the investors not even wait to see quarterly earnings, let alone annual earnings before starting in other locations?
How does the villain become a pauper after the heroine exposed his evil machinations in a press conference?
How does one call a press conference for such declarations, anyway? Not like CNN and Fox have nothing else to report. Hmmm… several points of logical concern.
BUT, you know what – if the audience can accept Rajnikanth become from a cowherd to a rich dude in 1 song (yes, I’m talking about Annamalai) or counter the laws of physics/logic by making a flying stick stop a raging bull (Padayappa), then sure why not have imagination run amuck similarly with a Female Lead. And what better female lead than the brilliant and beautiful Keerthy Suresh?
And the point of storytelling is in most cases to inspire. If this movie inspires more women to be entrepreneurs, to overcome the judgment and shaming of society, and to not give up when the going gets tough, then I say Bravo!!
Meet a real life tea Entrepreneur: Rushita – of Eternal Holistics

Having said that, I would now like to introduce a real-life Miss India style entrepreneur- my good friend Rushita, co-founder of Eternal Holistics tea – a young company that just started in 2019, and a mother of 2 young kids.
Managing a family during a pandemic and running a holistic tea company on the side – Talk about female empowerment… Rushita is the real life version that the movie Miss India portrays!!
While the work of Manasa Samyuktha (the protagonist’s name) a.k.a owner of Miss India tea in the movie involved power walks with fan blowing her hair, with top shots of her drawing designs, slow motions of her pulling chandeliers into place, here’s a view into Rushita’s daily work schedule…
Rushita takes care of her children, produces, packages and ships the products herself. Tracking payments, filling inventory, replying to customer queries are all part of her job in this start-up. Donning so many hats can wear a person down, but you can always see Rushita powering through with a smile….
Let’s walk through a day in her life right now:
A day in Rushita’s life, in her own words…
My day starts early with a 1-hour group exercise. Then I have just 1 hour left to squeeze everything in. Wake up the kids, breakfast, getting ourselves ready, and hello ZOOM. The elder one is still OK but with a kindergartener, it has been challenging. I try to sneak into my e-mails, try to reply to my customer queries as well as fulfilling any orders.
I have to be mindful to stay off the distractions and focus on producing excellent quality products and packaging. A quick run to the warehouse in the early morning makes it more hectic for most days.
In between, we have snack breaks and lunch preps going on. Then on the other side, I will have the younger one shouting, “I cannot find my paper” so I have to jump in with him. The elder one manages on his own, but the younger will needs me often in between.
After school, I usually make my run for all the shipments. Some days are super tiring, especially when making a few orders together and finishing the shipping. But at the end of the day, when you get positive feedback from the customers and learn about the inspiring impact on their well-being, it makes all worth it.

How do I know Rushita?
By the way, this is not a sponsored post. I am just using my blog as a platform to create awareness of their wonderful product. Rushita is a good friend of mine and I used to coach her son along with my daughter and other kids for Lego league a few years ago. She and her husband are genuinely lovely people and very authentic in nature.

I have tried their teas and I love the taste and the effect. As I enter my 40’s I find my body is unable to tolerate more than 1 or 2 cups of caffeine in a day.
When there is work to be done and I still look for something to refresh me in the dull afternoons or when working late at night, I love to sip on their teas. It refreshes me without giving me a headache (unlike other caffeinated drinks). Eterbrain is a wonderful option for folks looking for something similar.

Also, my mom loves it. She has been worrying about being forgetful recently. She really loved the taste and was also thrilled to learn that the tea enhances memory, focus and clarity. It is too early to tell whether it is a real or placebo effect:). But if it makes her happy, then that’s all that matters to me. Plus, she loves the taste.
